1. Chocolate (Particularly The Dark Variety)

Perhaps the most popular of all Valentine’s Day foods is chocolate. This particular food has long been associated with love and romance and is one of the most common gifts you’ll find available around this time of year. The romantic side of chocolate can be traced back to several factors. For one, it has been proven to help relieve stress and enhance a person’s overall mood, so it’s a great way to relax and enjoy a romantic evening. It is also considered to be an aphrodisiac, especially dark chocolate, which has mood boosters like phenylethylamine and helps to increase serotonin levels.
